由于魁北克省警的测速摄像头将配备一项新技术，鲁莽驾驶者可能会因太过贴近前车而更大机会收到罚单。
喜欢紧贴前车的驾驶者必须格外小心了，魁省巡逻警员将接受培训，学习如何使用测速摄像头上的新技术来严厉打击违规行为。
这项新功能可以精确测量两车之间的距离，为警员开具罚单提供证据。

专门处理交通违规案件的律师拉蒙塔涅 (Éric Lamontagne) 指出，这项技术将在魁北克省进行测试。
他补充说，这项功能将添加到现有设备中，使用比雷达精确得多的激光技术。
他说道， “ 大多数情况下，导致碰撞事故的都是距离问题。 ”
根据魁北克公路安全法规，若没有与前车保持安全距离，可被罚 $200 至 $300 ，并扣除两分。
