去年访加中国游客人数剧减 不及新冠疫情前三份一

由于加中关系仍然紧张，而且中国经济放缓，去年访加中国游客人数远远落后于疫情前的水平，仅相当于以往的三分之一。
在新冠疫情爆发前, 加国每年有大约75万名旅客来自中国, 他们的总消费额高达约20亿元。
但加拿大统计局的数据显示, 2023年只有22万5千名中国旅客, 数字虽然超出2022年,但仍然不及2018 及 2019 年高峰期的三份之一。
2023年8月，中国政府取消了针对许多国家团体旅行的疫情限制，恢复了对美国和大多数欧洲国家等地的“目的地批准地位”，但加拿大除外。
加拿大旅游业协会总裁兼首席执行官波特(Beth Potter)表示：“尽管个别中国游客可以前往加拿大，但团体旅行主要受到没有（目的地批准）的影响。”
世界旅游议会的数据显示，中国公民去年出外旅游消费达1200亿元, 比2019年少52%。
中国经济现时正在放缓, 相信有碍中国公民回复旧有的消费习惯性, 旅游业亦受影响。
