魁北克今起提高烟草产品税 仍是全国最低

魁省周四(9日)开始提高烟草产品的税，香烟的价格将变得更高。每盒200支装的香烟税率由$29.80增加至$37.80，涨幅达$8。
卫生部长杜贝 (Christian Dubé)说魁北克每年的吸烟消费额约为38亿元，他认为征税仍然是减少人们吸烟的最佳方法。
杜贝重申政府的目标是到2025年将吸烟率降低到10%。他说多年来已经有显著的下降。
财政部长吉拉德(Éric Girard)强调说，增加征税的另一个目标是“最大限度地减少烟草走私活动”。
因此，每支香烟的税率增加了4分，从14.9分增加到18.9分。
吉拉德在新闻稿说：“增加征税可以减少魁北克的烟草使用者数量，尤其是年轻人。”
魁北克烟草控制联盟认为，政府提高征税“将挽救无数生命”。
该联盟发言人杜卡斯(Flory Ducas)在新闻稿说：“要减少烟草的使用，没有其他方法比征税更有效。”
她说这次增加征税将阻止许多年轻人开始吸烟，并将促使吸烟者戒烟。

魁北克省：$130.92（含$37.80税）
安大略省：$139.94（含$46.86税）
艾伯塔省：$148.98（含$55税）
萨斯喀彻温省：$160.83（含$66.69税）
卑诗省：$170.11元（含$75.63税）
