这种动物濒临灭绝 魁北克缺乏保护

一种名为东加拿大狼(eastern wolf，简称东狼)尽管濒临灭绝，但是魁北克并不打算像安大略省 20 年来一样尽力保护它。
魁省和安省目前仅剩下 500只东狼。自2021年以来，该动物已获得联邦政府推出近40 项措施保护，诱捕和狩猎受亦到更严格的监管。
在魁北克，每年约有400只狼(含所有品种)被猎人捕获，并且对东狼没有任何限制。
因此，不少东狼在魁省被猎杀并卖出皮毛谋利，而这种行为在安省是被严格禁止。
曾经在魁省野生动物及公园部工作的生物学家 Michel Hénault 解释说，魁北克西部有3种狼的品种，但捕猎者无法区分灰狼、北部狼和东部狼。
另一位生物学家Hélène Jolicoeur表示：“我们必须投入更多的资金和资源进行研究，以更好地了解东部狼。”
