魁北克新例出台 大量老人面临失去驾照

魁北克汽车保险局(SAAQ)新例出台，将会导致一些老年驾驶者被吊销驾照。
由现在开始，若驾驶者获医生诊断患有神经认知障碍症 (neurocognitive disorders) ，将即时被自动吊销驾照。
在新例推出前，患者可以得到另一次路试机会才决定能否继续驾驶。
SAAQ 于 11 月初致函通知医护专业人员以上的变化。
据了解，新例旨在促进道路安全，并且简化行政程序。
最受新措施影响的将是 75 岁以上的驾驶者 ( 为数有约 42.2 万人 ) ，主要是他们要接受神经认知问题的评估。
被诊断有神经认知障碍而被吊销驾驶的人士可以提出上诉，但必须证明自己仍然适合驾驶。
老年病学医生马苏德 (Fadi Massoud) 担心，至少有数千名老年人因此失去驾照，他们的心理健康可能会受到严重影响。
马苏德感叹道：「这些老年人的出外能力将会大打折扣，生活素质也会随之下降。」
