蒙特利尔轻轨(REM)自周一启用以来新闻不断，除了先后出现3次故障导致服务中断，还试过有乘客被运送到宝乐莎(Brossard)的列车车库。
轻轨的动荡未停止，它在周五凌晨被雷击中，但没有造成任何后果，这表明电动轻轨的保护系统运行良好，终于是比较好的消息。
从一名住在宝乐莎高层公寓的市民在周四晚上 8 点 45 分左右拍摄的视频可以见到，当晚的雷暴十分厉害，不停出现闪电。
轻轨发言人则表示，轻轨在周五凌晨2 点 45 分左右被闪电击中，但系统马上重新启动并且“反应良好”。
而且没有造成任何破损或损毁。
