魁北克拟停止向所有医院私人病房收费

魁省卫生部长杜贝 (Christian Dubé) 计划停止向入住私人或半私人病房的患者收取费用。因为新医院目前仅提供私人病房，杜贝希望消除这种不公平现象。
杜贝指出，私人病房将成为一种标准。 “但是在所有医院均只提供私人病房前，我们必须不再向入住私人病房的患者收费。” 然而，杜贝没有说明落实时间表。
杜贝对魁北克监察员提交的最新报告做出了回应，该报告指出“必须结束不平等现象”。
事实上，蒙特利尔大学医院中心或麦吉尔大学卫生中心等最新医院，现时只提供私人病房。
杜贝进一步说：“我们正在进行现代化改变，因此有需要修改法规，为省民提供舒适的病房，而不是透过收取费用赚钱。”
不过，卫生部长并不知道这些私人病房每年为政府带来多少收入。
魁省目前私人或半私人房间的收费 （根据面积和可用设施而有所不同）
私人病房：每天$110至$273之间；
半私人房间（双人）：每天$68.12至$95.97之间；
