总部位于温哥华的电信公司Telus宣布第二季度净利润下降 61%，裁员6,000 人。
该公司总裁兼首席执行官恩特威斯尔(Darren Entwistle) 表示，此次裁员是出于“非常沉重的心情”，并受到“不断变化的监管、竞争和宏观经济环境”的影响。
他补充说，Telus将提供提前退休和自愿离职计划。
金融市场数据公司 Refinitiv 表示，截至去年底，Telus拥有 108,500 名员工。
Telus 宣布裁员计划的同时，该公司透露第二季度净利润较去年同期下降近 61%至1.96 亿元。
截至6月30日的季度，该公司的净利润为每股14分，而去年同期为每股34分。
恩特威斯尔称，电信企业正在努力简化运营，以应对利率飙升、通胀居高不下及监管。
