加拿大未来 10 年将会耗资超过 4 千亿元，将国防设备生产重心从美国转回国内。
根据加拿大 2 月 17 日发布的国防工业战略文件，加拿大于未来 10 年，将会直接在军事采购花费 1,800 亿元，并动用 2,900 亿元于国防和安全相关基建。当中的核心承诺是加拿大企业获得的国防采购份额将会提高到七成。
总理卡尼说，加拿大过去几十年，在国防的投入不足、对国防工业的投资也不够，太倚赖其他国家保护加拿大。
加拿大政府表示，将会跟当地部分企业建立战略伙伴关系，目标是打造世界级领军企业，满足加拿大需求；而在加拿大无法独自建设的领域，就会跟可信赖盟友深化合作，特别是欧洲、英国与印太地区。
