加拿大总理杜鲁多周一 (6 日 ) 早上正式宣布辞去加拿大自由党领袖一职。
杜鲁多 周一 在其官邸 Rideau 别墅外发表历史性声明，宣布他打算留任总理，直到选出新的领导人。
杜鲁多今天上午还会见了总督西蒙 (Mary Simon) ，要求议会休会至 3 月 24 日，并已获得批准。
总理稍后将回答媒体关于这一重大政治举措及其连锁影响的问题。
这是自 12 月中旬其副手方慧兰 (Chrystia Freeland) 辞职后陷入混乱以来，杜鲁多首次公开发表长篇讲话。
