加拿大斥巨资在蒙特利尔打造全国最大非裔加人文化中心

加拿大文化遗产部将斥资近 500 万元 活化 蒙特利尔前美术学院大楼 (Ecole des Beaux-Arts building) ，打造全国最大的非裔加人文化中心。
该项 475 万元的投资，将用于翻新和扩建位于 Saint-Urbain 街 3450 号 ( 靠近 Sherbrooke 街西 ) 的 前美术学院大楼，以打造黑人社区组织的中心。
蒙特利尔非裔加人文化中心执行董事亚历山大 ( Allen Alexandre ) 说，未来的文化中心将展现加拿大黑人的历史、文化和艺术。
他说联邦总经费加起来为 2150 万元，蒙特利尔市也有拨款 50 万元。
亚历山大补充说，该中心还必须筹集 500 万元，才能完成图书馆、档案馆、艺术工作室和现场表演场地的计划。
该项目于 2024 年 5 月 16 日首次宣布时，联邦环境和气候变化部长吉尔博特 (Steven Guilbeault) 表示该个新中心将成为其中一个最环保的同类建筑。
亚历山大说翻新工程将于今年夏天开始，并预计于 2027 年启用。
