加拿大总理卡尼期望与特朗普尽快通话 尊重对方经济目标

加拿大驻美国大使希尔曼（ Kirsten Hillman ）周日 (16 日 ) 表示，新任总理卡尼（ Mark Carney ）期望可以尽快与美国总统特朗普通话。
据报道，希尔曼接受美国媒体访问时指，卡尼日前宣誓就职后，渥太华方面就与美国政府沟通，并期待与特朗普接触。
希尔曼表示，卡尼有意与特朗普建立良好及稳固关系，并尊重对方为了提振美国经济所作出的举动，但自己亦会为了加拿大而采取同一动作。
特朗普宣布由 4 月 2 日起实施对等关税，希尔曼被问到加拿大会否获豁免时，只表示上周与美国商务部长卢特尼克（ Howard Lutnick ）会面时，对方表明加拿大将会受影响。
卡尼 16 日展开法国及英国访问之旅，聚焦安全、经济及贸易合作，之后会停留加拿大努纳福特地区的首府伊魁特，重申加拿大在北极圈的主权。他早前声称未有访美计划，但希望在适当时刻与特朗普交谈。
