魁省三个地区将试行准许商店周末晚上营业

魁省推行试验计划，在拉瓦尔(Laval)、加蒂诺(Gatineau)和Saint-Georges-de-Beauce等三个地区，在没有强制性下允许商店在周末将关闭时间由下午5点延后至晚上8点。如果试验措施取得理想效果，可能推广至整个魁北克省。
魁省经济部长斯基特(Christopher Skeete)表示，魁北克是北美唯一强制规定营业时间的司法管辖区。他认为商店应该能够根据顾客需求而调整营业时间。
因此从夏季末开始，魁省政府将允许以上三个地区的店铺自行决定延长营业时间。如有必要，政府可以延长这项为期12个月的试验计划。
斯基特解释选择这三个城市的原因：「我们想在不同的市场(城市、乡郊和边境地区)测试延长周末营业时间的效果。」
例如加蒂诺的情况比较特别，因为它靠近安大略省，而安省并没有强制规定营业时间。
同时，魁省也将允许性用品商店，像书籍和唱片店一样每天营业至晚上11点。
经济部长强调，以上3种类型商店的消费者习惯与其他类型店铺有所不同。
