加拿大运动员荣膺全球身价最高女子足球员

20 岁的加拿大足球运动员史密斯（ Olivia Smith ，图）獲英格兰女子超级联赛球会阿森纳垂青，以打破女足转会费世界纪录的 100 万镑 ( 折合约 185 万加元 ) 从利物浦收购。
史密斯表示： “ 这对女子足球和加拿大足球来说迈进了一大步，我希望这能让年轻的加拿大女孩们看到，凡事皆有可能。 ”
史密斯出生於安省北约克，曾代表加拿大女足在国际赛上阵 18 场，攻入 4 球。去季在利物浦获选年度最佳女子足球员。
史密斯加盟阿森纳的转会费，打破了今年 1 月切尔西签入美国女足球员吉尔玛 (Naomi Girma) 时所造的 90 万镑 ( 折合约 160 万元 ) 世界最高转会费纪录。
男子足球的转会费纪录由巴西球员尼马保持，他在 2017 年从巴塞隆纳转投巴黎圣日耳曼，转会费高达 2 亿镑 ( 折合约 3.68 亿加元 ) 。
加拿大今年刚成立了女足职业超级联赛 “ 北方超联 ” 」 (Northern Super League) ，暂有六支球队角逐，一些出色球员有望陆续获得欧洲著名球会垂青。
