加拿大女飞鱼世锦赛夺4金 全国掀起游泳热

加拿大泳手麦甘杜丝 (Summer McIntosh ，图 ) 在本届世界游泳锦标赛勇夺四金一铜佳绩。本国泳坛人士表示，麦甘杜丝创下的成绩，提高了加拿大人对游泳运动的兴趣，激励了年轻选手不懈努力。
多伦多游泳会的全国总教练奥图尔 (Bill O'Toole) 预言： “ 她将成为有史以来最伟大的游泳运动员。看着她游泳，所有人都非常兴奋，深受鼓舞。 ”
奥图尔补充道， “ 只有天空是极限，加拿大人比得上世界上任何人那样优秀。这不仅是为了取胜，更是为了突破障碍。 ”
麦金杜丝已在世锦赛上累积获得 13 面奖牌，是获奖最多的加拿大泳手，其中包括 8 面金牌。
湖滨游泳会会长史密斯 (Tara Smith) 表示，自去年奥运会后，民众对泳会的赛前训练课程兴趣有所提升，她将此归功于麦金杜丝。
她指出，麦金杜丝为游泳运动引发了广泛的热情，也激励了孩子们。
