魁北克精神科医生协会表示，他们支持一项旨在简化强制精神健康危机患者住院流程的法案。
现行法律仅允许当局在患者精神状态对其自身或他人构成 “ 严重且迫在眉睫的危险 ” 时对其进行强制治疗。
而新法案将允许当局强制收治精神状态对其自身或他人构成 “ 危险 ” 的患者。

魁北克精神科医生协会主席加马什（ Claire Gamache ）表示，这项改革势在必行，因为许多精神疾病患者并未意识到自身病情，这使得临床干预变得困难。
她向立法委员会表示，在早期阶段以同情和关怀的态度进行干预，可以帮助患者接受治疗，并相信治疗将改善他们的生活。
卫生部长贝朗格（ Sonia Bélanger ，图）于 3 月份提交了该法案，并希望新法案能在 6 月份立法会议结束前获得通过。
