玩具反斗城节日后 在魁省将仅剩一家门店继续营业

加拿大玩具反斗城 (Toys R Us) 正持续关闭其在魁北克省的门店，在节日购物季过后，魁省将仅剩一家门店继续运营。
大玩具反斗城提交给魁省劳工部的通知显示，将关闭位于魁北克市、拉瓦尔 (Laval) 和宝乐莎 (Brossard) 的门店，导致共有 68 名员工于 1 月 5 日被裁。
在今年年初时，玩具反斗城在魁省共有 13 家门店，节日后将仅剩位于 St-Bruno-de-Montarville 的一家门店。然而，该门店所在的建筑也正在出售。
玩具反斗城在美国的母公司于 2017 年申请破产保护，但当时拥有 82 家门店的加拿大分公司得以幸存，先是于 2018 年被 Fairfax Financial 收购，随后又于 2021 年被 Putman Investments 收购。自那以后，一半的门店已经关闭，而加拿大其他地区的门店也面临关闭或待售的命运。
零售顾问格雷 (David Gray) 对玩具反斗城的没落并不觉得惊讶。他说在受到数字游戏和娱乐的冲击、电子商务的兴起以及亚马逊在该领域的统治地位，还有折扣零售商（尤其是沃尔玛）的崛起，都加剧了玩具反斗城的困境。
