枪支暴力案件减少三成 警察局长：“蒙特利尔是个安全城市

蒙特利尔警方表示，枪支暴力案件自今年年初以来已经减少了30%，但警告称问题远未得到解决。
警察局长达格尔(Fady Dagher，图)在周四的新闻发布会上表示，枪支暴力减少是因为警方改变了打击方法及在4月进行连串的“关键”逮捕。
达格尔指蒙特利尔是一个安全的城市，并补充说警察不会放松警惕。 “30%确实是很了不起的比率，但夏天没有任何保证。”
达格尔说，自今年年初以来，警方已逮捕了120名与枪支有关的人，缴获了近370支枪支。
年初至今共发生40起开枪事件，低于去年同期的58起。使用枪支谋杀未遂和致命枪击的数量也都下降了。
然而，达格尔承认说发现黑帮之间正在进行报复，警队已经密切关注。
蒙特利尔警队督察谢恩 (David Shane) 表示，枪支暴力案件减少部份原因归功于他们采取了新的打击方法。
他说警员和文职人员混合组成了新的团队，对他们认为可能卷入枪支暴力的人“瞄准并不断施加压力”。该团队人员包括调查、巡逻、情报收集和预防方面的专家。
“他们的任务是防止街道上发生开枪事件，”谢恩说。 “并且在可能的情况下，让人们摆脱这种暴力环境。”
