蒙特利尔男子通过入籍试逾一年 仍然无法宣誓成为公民

蒙特利尔男子法利(James Farley，上图) 2019年夏天申请成为加拿大公民，并于 2021 年通过入籍试，一切似乎都很顺利。然而，宣誓仪式却出现了问题。
尽管通过入籍试已经一年多，法利仍然没有收到参加入籍宣誓仪式的邀请。反过来他被三次要求提交指纹。
法利收到最近的一次通知是要求他提供更多信息，以便处理申请。
法利说他在加拿大和家乡英国从未遇到过麻烦。 “我一生没有犯罪背景，从来没有遇到过任何诉讼。”
法利将其归因于官僚主义和加拿大移民系统的严重崩溃。
他说感觉就像进入了黑洞，非常令人沮丧。
加拿大移民、难民和公民部周三（4日）回覆媒体查询时表示，基于隐私无法对法利的具体案件发表评论，
申请人一般在通过入籍试后的4到6个月内进行入籍宣誓仪式。
政府表示若申请出现特别情况，那么便需要较长时间处理。
