南岸城市前市长涉妨碍司法公正被捕

魁省南岸城市Chambly的前市长拉沃伊(Denis Lavoie，图) 因妨碍司法公正和违背诚信，周二(28日)被魁北克反腐败部门(UPAC)拘捕。
拉沃伊被指控在2016年1 月至2019年5月期间故意妨碍、转移或阻挠Chambly市法院的司法程序。
他获保释后承诺将于5月10日在 Longueuil 法院出庭。
拉沃伊于2005年至2019年担任Chambly市长，任期内一直备受争议。
2018年11月，加拿大广播电台的 Enquête节目揭示了他的专制作风。据称，在他执政期间，威胁、诉讼和滥用权力的行为屡见不鲜。
就在报导播出的当天，拉沃伊下令拆除Boileau二百周年纪念建筑，这是一座重要的遗产建筑。
2019年2月，UPAC在Chambly市政厅进行了搜索。几周后，即2019年4月初，拉沃伊以健康理由辞去职务。
Chambly现任市长拉贝 (Alexandra Labbé)在拉沃伊被捕后表示：“很高兴看到举报人的声音得到了倾听，违例者将要自负后果。”
2020年，拉沃伊还被指控在2017 年市政选举期间犯下3项违反选举法的罪行，原因是在投票站内制作了党派广告。
