魁省《地铁报》媒体 本周将宣布破产

魁北克《地铁报》媒体(Métro Média)的负责人穆爾(Andrew Mule)周日(17日)表示 ， 将于本周宣布破产，意味《地铁报》和其他16 家纸质周报将会永久停刊。
《地铁报》媒体目前拥有约 70 名员工，其中包括约30 名记者，早前的临时裁员将成为永久性裁员。
魁北克大学蒙特利尔分校（UQAM）新闻学教授怀特(Patrick White)曾经表示，《地铁报》媒体的关闭将造成“新闻荒漠”，这对地区民主来说是“非常非常坏的消息”。
他警告说，《地铁报》媒体旗下的社区报纸，对当地政府有着详细报导，其中包括城市规划、废物收集，以及道路和公园的维护。
怀特说，这些社区报纸有着强大监察政府作用，现在将会消失。
《地铁报》媒体成立于2018 年，当时蒙特利尔商人拉福尔(Michael Raffoul) 从TransContinental Inc.收购了30 份出版物，其中包括免费派发的《地铁报》和29 份社区周报，其中一些出版物更早前已经关闭。
该公司在其网站上表示，《地铁报》每周有 10 万名读者，其网站每月有近 200 万独立浏览量，每月共发行 165,000 份周报。
穆爾曾经指出，蒙特利尔改变广告塑料袋Publisac的派发方式，对旗下社区报纸造成毁灭性的打击。
