蒙特利尔康大学生发起请愿 要求一条街道改名

康戈迪亚大学(l’Université Concordia)的一名学生发起请愿，要求更改蒙特利尔 Christophe-Colomb 大街的名称，目前已收集了约200个签名。
请愿的发起人科赫洛(Ray Coehlo)表示，这位西班牙探险家不值得被纪念，因为他参与了剥削原住民。
蒙特利尔魁北克大学 (UQÀM)的拉丁美洲历史助理教授德尔波索(José Del Pozo)说：“我们必须批评一些西班牙人所做的令人厌恶，要让他们从公共地方消失。”
他说蒙特利尔市成立的委员会必须尽快就该问题进行磋商。
蒙特利尔市议员哈桑-库诺尔(Alia Hassan-Cournol)说：“历史除了有伟大的发现和巨大的进步，显然也有阴影和痛苦的地方。设立这个委员会的目标正是要回答这些问题。”
