魁人党候选人因为不当言论被暂停竞选

魁省 Rousseau 选区魁人党 (PQ) 候选人瓦尼尔（ Pierre Vanier ）因为对戴面纱的女性和穆斯林宗教发表不当评论，遭党领普拉蒙顿（ Paul St-Pierre Plamondon ）暂停其竞选。
瓦尼尔在 2015 年和 2016 年发布的社交媒体帖子中，质疑戴面纱女性的智力，并指责穆斯林 “ 扼杀民主 ” ，这些评论在 “ 蒙特利尔日报 ” 再次浮面。
他在 2015 年 6 月写道： “ 给一个主权主义者一把锤子，他将建设一个国家。 ”“ 给一个穆斯林锤子，他将扼杀民主。 ”
2016 年 1 月，他猛烈抨击戴面纱的女性。 “ 为什么西方女性会选择披上这些服饰？正如我的一位同事所说：她们错过了 15 分钟未煮熟的头巾。 ”
本周早些时候，普拉蒙顿不得不就另外两名候选人对穆斯林宗教的评论做出解释。
普拉蒙顿承认瓦尼尔的言论 “ 不能够接受 ” ，但他将聆听瓦尼尔的解释，然后才做最终决定。
