治安堪虞 蒙特利尔五周内发生100起纵火

自今年年初以来，蒙特利尔的纵火浪潮似乎没有平息的迹象。单是上周五晚至周六省庆长假期间，蒙市便发生了四起纵火或可疑火灾。
据报，蒙特利尔2023年迄今至少发生了320起纵火。其中自5月12日以来，就发生了 100 起纵火袭击，因此在过去五周内，平均每周至少发生20起纵火案件。
在今年发生的 320 起纵火袭击事件中，背后有着多种不同的动机，但彼此之间并不一定有联系。
在这些纵火动机中，不少是针对商户和餐馆的勒索、偷车贼网络之间的纠纷、债务、保险欺诈，以及个人或有组织犯罪集团之间的冲突。
直至5月12日的220起纵火袭击中，蒙特利尔警方估计其中大约40起(18%)与黎巴嫩有组织犯罪或黑手党有关。
同样直至5月12日，至少有34名纵火犯被捕。
