魁北克最低时薪5月起增加至$15.25

魁省劳工部长布莱特(Jean Boulet)周三(18日)宣布，魁北克的最低时薪将增加至15.25元。
1元的涨幅，意味着每周工作40小时的最低工资人士每年大约多赚 2千元。
这次7.02%的涨幅是魁北克自 1995 年以来最显著的工资增长。去年 5 月，魁省将最低时薪标准从13.50元提高到 14.25元。
新的最低工资标准将于 2023 年 5 月 1 日生效。
同时，对于依赖小费作为收入的雇员，最低时薪将增加到12.20元，增加了80分。
布莱特指出，即将到来的加薪将使到魁省的 298,900 名雇员受益，其中包括164,100名女性。
他说：“我们确保这一最低工资相当于所有魁北克雇员平均工资的 50%。”
加拿大独立企业联合会 (CFIB) 的政策分析师鲁斯 (Benjamin Rousse) 表示，最低时薪上涨 7.02% 将对小企业主产生“重大负面影响”。
他指出，企业主已经在努力应对其他问题，包括通货膨胀和劳动力短缺。
他说，提高工资和维持小企业生存的最佳方式是政府减轻征税。 “如果税务负担减轻，我们首先看到的是雇主增加雇员的工资。”
