魁省省长勒戈 (François Legault) 周二 (19 日 ) 告诉美国官员，魁北克无法再承受像几年前的新一波偷渡潮。
勒戈是在魁北克 - 美国部长级工作小组第一次会议上发表上述言论。
该委员会是在川普 (Donald Trump) 当选总统后成立的，川普在竞选期间多次表示打算大规模驱逐非法移民。
