魁省八旬翁勒死阿尔茨海默病妻子 被判终身监禁

魁省 81 岁男子布拉萨德 (Gilles Brassard ，图 ) 承认杀害患有阿尔茨海默病的妻子，周五 (22 日 ) 二级谋杀罪成被判处终身监禁， 10 年零 6 个月内不得假释。
布拉萨德声称他去年在蒙特利尔北部一家长期护理院勒死 79 岁妻子 Thérèse Brassard-Lévesque ，是出于怜悯和爱。
他周五在宣判后于法庭外告诉记者： “ 我见到她日渐衰弱，最糟糕的情况还没有到来，我无法忍受这一切。 ”
布拉萨德的亲人在听取法官宣判时都不禁落泪。
布拉萨德于上周承认犯有二级谋杀罪。
2023 年 9 月 30 日，布拉萨德在魁省 Terrebonne 的 Résidence Ressource Lanaudière 长期护理院住房内谋杀妻子。
检察官告诉法庭，布拉萨德曾四次试图杀死他的妻子，而遭到妻子反抗。
最终到了第五次尝试，布拉萨德的妻子停止了呼吸。
布拉萨德随后试图在养老院内自杀，吞下了大量药物，但最终获救。
去年被捕时，布拉萨的最初被指控犯有一级谋杀罪。
布拉萨的的亲属在声明和信件中声称，由于新冠疫情，他对公立护老院缺乏资源感到压抑。
