照顾费用昂贵 蒙特利尔这种狗被遗弃率令人担忧

蒙特利尔的动物倡导者表示，有一品种的狗由于昂贵的医疗、保险和其他费用，越来越多被遗弃。
法国斗牛犬（ Frenchies ）是一种短头犬种，鼻子短，脸部扁平，眼睛大而凸出。
蒙特利尔爱护动物协会 (SPCA) 执行董事马塞 (Laurence Massé) 解释说，很多人受到这些身体特征吸引，它们也导致了多种医疗问题。
马塞补充说，所有品种中有六分之一的狗因医疗费用而被遗弃到 SPCA 。
法国斗牛犬和其他类似品种由于生理原因，气管、脊椎、皮肤和其他部位经常出现问题。
兽医斯库利卡斯 (Sophia Skoulikas) 说，法国斗牛犬往往有很多呼吸问题，而且它们患角膜溃疡或角膜色素沉着的风险更高。
因此，主人可能要应付昂贵的账单。
斯库利卡斯说： “ 如果它们最终患上非常严重的疾病，如髋关节和肘关节发育不良或脊柱问题，那么这些手术费用将高达 5 千到 1 万元。 ”
斯库利卡斯补充说，与皮肤相关的问题，每月可能需要花费约 150 元，用于特殊食物、药物和洗发水。
加上常规护理，如梳理、常规食物和疫苗等，费用颇为高昂。
根据 Rover.com 的数据，法国斗牛犬是加拿大 2024 年第六大最受欢迎的犬种，也是最受欢迎的短头犬。
