面临财困 蒙特利尔地铁站暂停增设电梯

由于资金不足， Atwater 地铁站早前启用的电梯将是蒙特利尔公交局 (STM) 近期暂时最后一个无障碍通道项目。
公交局解释说，政府连续第三年没有为基础设施维护或无障碍通道项目拨出任何新资金。
公交局称，未来三年的维护经费实际上将减少 2.58 亿元。
公交局董事会主席考德威尔 (Éric Alan Caldwell) 表示情况令人担忧，地铁的可靠性和安全性可能受到影响。
考德威尔表示如果缺乏资金，公交局就无法启动维护基础设施和建造电梯的项目。
目前，黄线 Berri-UQAM 和蓝线 Édouard-Monpetit 地铁站的电梯安装工程仍将继续进行。
耗资 700 万元的 Atwater 站电梯项目成为蒙特利尔 68 个地铁站中第 30 个实现无障碍通道的车站。
残疾人权益倡导组织 RAPLIQ 的总经理拉佩里埃 (Steven Laperrière) 对地铁决定暂停增设电梯表示遗憾。
拉佩里埃表示电梯除了对残疾人非常重要，也对老人和推婴儿车的家长带来好处。 “ 事实上，它对每个人都有益。 ”
虽然公交局的目标是到 2030 年 41 个地铁站实现无障碍通道，但现在表示这一目标不太可能实现。
尽管遭遇挫折，拉佩里埃仍然希望它能够成为现实。
